When we meet with people to explain our work, we often refer to our ‘Continuum’. Simply put, our continuum shows the different youth work activities we provide for each step of a young persons journey.
We are here for young people with a long-term approach; our ideal goal is to work with a young person from the age of 11 all the way up to reaching adulthood. This allows us to support them throughout their teenage years, with all the ups and downs which come with being a young person, and we can put projects in place for each stage of this journey. This is what we call the LYP Continuum – a 5 step journey which matches the needs of a young person with a range of projects for each stage. Click on the graphic to see what it looks like.
The foundation of our continuum is BFree Youth Cafe – this is Step 1, ‘Welcome’. This is where we welcome young people and meet them for the first time – it’s an unstructured session which focuses on giving them a safe, fun space where they can meet with friends and get to know our youth workers. The following Continnum steps provide more targeted and specialised youth work, but they would be nowhere near as effective without Step 1 because that is where we build trust and relationship with young people and the wider community.

An example of how your donation will help...
£20 covers a 5-A-Day healthy eating session at BFree.
£50 covers our football equipment for a term of Total Football.
£100 pays for 6 one-to-one sessions between a youth worker and young person.
We are always looking for volunteers who can help us with the work we do.
