It’s 2018 and we are really excited about delivering another year of quality youth work! Here is a look at our line up:
BFree Youth Café – We’re hoping for another fantastic year of BFree, our main relational hub, open every day after school. We currently have a great group of 30-40 regular young people attending the café, which ensures there is always a buzzing atmosphere! Two of our young people have just been nominated for the 2018 Mole Valley Youth Showcase Awards for reliably running our Cafe Shop!
One to One Counselling– This year we hope to continue providing excellent one to one support throughout Mole Valley, delivering over 60 counselling sessions a month! We are also continuing to expand our partnerships with secondary schools in Leatherhead and Dorking, working together to achieve the best possible support for young people.
Bookham Youth Project (BYouth) – We are looking forward to taking ‘BYouth’ into its second year, growing projects and offering new opportunities to young people in Bookham. We now run 2 youth club sessions a week and have recently launched a Monday night football project, which has had a great initial uptake!
Freestyle Residential Camp – This year we are excited about expanding our Easter residential camp ‘Freestyle’ up to a capacity of 60 young people! This will be our biggest ever Freestyle residential, providing 4 days of sports, activities, and workshops! If you want to know more, contact the office or come into BFree.
Girls Group – Throughout 2017 ‘Girls Group’ was regularly attended by 20-30 girls and we hope to continue this impressive provision in 2018. This year we are excited about expanding our ‘Girls Group’ residential to take more girls away for a weekend of activities and workshops!
Blaze and Geezers – These are our two boy’s projects: ‘Blaze’ (for years 7-9) and ‘Geezers’ (years 10-11) provide a fortnightly positive space for young males, as well as trips out to major London attractions and Premiership football matches.
AllSaints Coffee Shop – Having recently recruited a full team of apprentices, Allsaints is now running at full capacity! This means we can provide great work opportunities for young people, alongside serving a top quality coffee shop menu. Make sure you come and visit us!
Into the Wild – This year we are hoping to take ‘Into the Wild’ to the next level with a mountain expedition! We’re hoping this will be an unforgettable experience, helping connect young people with the wilderness and help them discover new perspectives.
Total Football – This year, for the first time, we are able to deliver 3 blocks of 8 weekly sessions (24 sessions in total!). Expanding this project provides an even better opportunity for young people to get fit, enjoy football and stay out of trouble on a Friday night! We are hoping to provide referee and coaching qualifications for young volunteers on the project. if this interest’s you please get in touch!
Making Good – This is our youth social action project, which runs every half term. This year we are excited about providing new volunteering opportunities for young people and creating new partnerships in the community. This project is a great way for young people to give back to their community!
North Leatherhead Youth Council – Established in 2017, the North Leatherhead Youth Council aims to educate young people on how they can impact their community. This year we hope to further our work alongside local councillors on issues in the community and do an educational trip to Parliament!
Self-care project – This year we are launching an initiative to find new ways of supporting our staff towards self-care and quality performance. This will involve research into best practice of how organisations can support staff involved in ‘people work’, as well as produce a resource that will be made available for other organisations seeking to nourish and invest in their staff.
Your donation will go straight into helping us run projects for local young people.
An example of how your donation will help...
£20 covers a 5-A-Day healthy eating session at BFree.
£50 covers our football equipment for a term of Total Football.
£100 pays for 6 one-to-one sessions between a youth worker and young person.
We are always looking for volunteers who can help us with the work we do.
Suitable volunteers will need to be able to relate young people and build positive relationships with them. Please contact us for a role description and to talk more about this if you are interested in volunteering.Get in touch
