Into the Wild – Climbing Pen Y Fan

This week our young people lead by a small team of young leaders climbed the highest mountain in South Wales, Pen Y Fan! It was grim conditions for the climb with rain and some very cold wind blowing, but this made the climb extra adventurous! Our group were split into small teams each stocked up with cooking equipment, a map, first aid kit and with a young leader, inspiring and encouraging them along the way, and of course supported by our team of youth workers. We also had help from active brand Amer Sports who provided outdoor equipment for the climb. Everyone did really well and had to dig in as conditions worsened near the top of the mountain. We were hoping for a beautiful view at the top but instead we were enveloped in a thick rain cloud, but this didn’t take away the sense of achievement which was clear to see from the smiles! Well done everyone.
